Responsibilities

You will collaborate with talented engineers, program managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver new features to Microsoft Stream in collaboration. You will partner with teams across Microsoft to incorporate cutting edge machine learning and AI technologiesYou will be data driven in setting goals and measuring success while moving toward a clear focus on what’s best for the customer. You will deliver continuous innovation through safe roll-out practices and adhere to compliance requirements to maintain the Microsoft brand of trust. Some other responsibilities include: 

  • Design, implement and deploy machine learning models and microservices to improve the cost and effectiveness of our video processing pipeline 
  • Evolve our scalable and high-performance experimentation framework for Stream 
  • Improve our data pipeline for Stream’s rollout and experimentation needs 
  • Collaborate with the data science team to understand product insights and generate feature scorecards  
  • Continue to enable our data driven culture and enable safe roll-out practices with impactful experimentations 
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to do presentations and strong team work ethics 

Qualifications

Required 

  • 2+ years of object-oriented programming experience (C++, C#, Python, Java, TypeScript or equivalent) 
  • 1+ years of experience building and running cloud services at scale 
  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills  
  • Passion for understanding and solving data driven problems 

 

Preferred 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience 
  • Ability to quickly ramp up, understand complex problems, and create solutions across many products.  
  • Experience working on software flighting systems 
  • Experience with scripting and query languages such as Powershell, SQL and Kusto queries 
  • Experience with image or video processing and streaming technologies 
  • Experience with developing data pipelines 
  • Growth mindset with a desire to learn, persist through challenges, and embrace failure as an opportunity to evolve. 

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
