About The Role
WooliesX are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join one of the squads in the Digital Experience Tribe. The Digital Experience Tribe primarily focuses on consumer facing platforms such as Website Ecommerce, Content and Mobile Apps. 

Software Engineers will work in a team of 4-5 engineers, a Product Manager and a QA to uplift an Ecommerce Web platform that generates more than a billion dollars in revenue a year. 

The candidate will also be expected to raise the standard of Engineering at WooliesX by actively participating in Technical chapters and guilds. 

 

About You

  • You’re an Engineer with years of experience dealing with complex problems at scale
  • You ‘Get’ Agile and feel comfortable giving input on team processes
  • You know what best-in-class Engineering looks like and want to help drive the journey
  • You’re involved in the Software Engineering community. You either attend meetups, conferences, have a Blog or GitHub portfolio
  • You enjoy being part of every part of the Software development lifecycle - own the code from inception through to Production
  • You want to be part of a Digital Transformation and enjoy working in a fast paced environment

 

Competencies

  • Strong .NET skills
  • Strong engineering practices and disciplines
  • Demonstrable experience with modern CI tools
  • Great Agile experience and sensibilities
  • Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Desirable: Strong experience with Angular, but experience with any modern Javascript framework will be highly regarded

 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop high quality, scalable and performant solutions
  • Involved in all aspects of the Software development lifecycle from design, development, testing through to deployment 
  • Work in a small Agile team 
  • Mentor and coach junior to mid level engineers
  • Not afraid to speak up in cross squad and tribe conversations about engineering best practices

 
Required Skills

  • Significant .NET experience
  • Ability to stay calm in challenging circumstances and work through problems methodically
  • Ability to question decisions and challenge the status quo 
  • Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers
  • Good understanding of engineering practices
  • Details oriented
  • Good understanding of Agile & Lean delivery principals, and can provide input to team processes
  • Understanding of modern development paradigms
  • Desirable: experience with Elastic Search (or perhaps with a similar Lucene based platform)
