The Web Experiences (WebXT) org at Microsoft is working on large scale search, browse and content technologies across Bing, Microsoft News, Advertising Platform, Edge browser, and Maps.

We are the Bing Local Search team responsible for delivering various local search and recommendation experiences to over 500M+ global users of Microsoft’s search engine (Bing) and Web Experiences (WebXT). We are responsible for mining comprehensive, fresh, rich, and clean content from internet, partners, and business owners for millions for businesses around the world.

You will focus on building a highly scalable and high-performance services, data pipelines and tools to collect and process local businesses data to empower local search and recommendations experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design/Implement/Improve backend infrastructure for collecting, processing, and serving large volumes of data.
• Drive a high-quality bar in terms of architecture, code quality, test driven development, CI/CD, and automated monitoring & alerts.
• Drive long-term design thinking for systems and engineering processes with simplicity and maintainability.
• Ownership in driving features end to end.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science or equivalent
• Relevant years of experience C++, C# or Java, Python, object-oriented programming
• Relevant years of professional development experience in designing, developing, and shipping high quality software products.
• Experience with big-data technologies such as – Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong problem solving & critical thinking capabilities 
• Clear communication skills and demonstrated customer empathy 
• Passionate and collaborative team player with drive to work in a fast-paced environment 
• Experience in machine learning and data science is plus.
