Job summary
Come build the future of entertainment with us. Are you interested in shaping the future of movies and television? Do you want to define the next generation of how and what Amazon customers are watching?

Prime Video is a premium streaming service that offers customers a vast collection of TV shows and movies - all with the ease of finding what they love to watch in one place. We offer customers thousands of popular movies and TV shows from Originals and Exclusive content to exciting live sports events. We also offer our members the opportunity to subscribe to add-on channels which they can cancel at anytime and to rent or buy new release movies and TV box sets on the Prime Video Store. Prime Video is a fast-paced, growth business - available in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. The team works in a dynamic environment where innovating on behalf of our customers is at the heart of everything we do. If this sounds exciting to you, please read on.

Key job responsibilities
You will be designing and building high throughput and low latency services using latest Amazon Cloud technologies.
Imagine impacting the lives of millions of Prime Video customers globally by allowing them easy access to their favorite video content. We are talking 600K+ requests per second and less than 50ms response time. In fact, 95% of our responses are served from the cache. You will get an opportunity to independently lead new features and decide how to make them BIG for your customers. You will be working with Engineering teams located over different parts of the world - India, Seattle, London and more.

A day in the life
You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team of engineers with diverse background and perspectives. We celebrate our successes and learn from our challenges together. We offer you the chance to make a direct impact on the way Amazon customers watch video content worldwide. Our teams provide opportunities to hone your ideas, challenge your thinking, develop your skills and advance your career. You will have opportunity to hire, coach and mentor others.
BUT it’s not all work and no play, you can expect some fun with social activities like: monthly team lunches, monthly game night, weekly team tea, outings and more.

About the team
We are looking for Software Development Engineers to join the Video Commerce Platforms team (VCP). We own global, low latency and high scale services. We drive customer experience by presenting our customer with playback and purchase options (“Buy Now”, "Watch Now"), video-on-demand (Buy, Rent), live sporting events, and signing up for channels and Amazon Prime. We empower customers with personalized information based on their access (eg: "Movie coming soon", "Season leaving soon"). Our team is highly visible and our services are fundamental to the Prime Video experience.
