We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Automation Test Engineer within our Life Platforms Team. In this role you will be responsible for transforming and improving the types of testing through the agile software development lifecycle, delivering functional and appealing digital communications.

As the Automation Tester you will be an advocate for testing, automation and continuous improvement working closely with developers to enhance the existing QA structure as well as writing new automated tests.

Key Responsibilities

• Active contribution and leadership in the QA community both internal and external, providing thought leadership in QA practices and continuously driving improvements
• Lead an execute testing strategies and process improvements
• Ensure that the relevant levels and types of testing needed to produce quality software are executed
• Work with the team to deliver both automated and manual tests to meet delivery milestones
• Design, develop and implement frameworks that build quality automation and security into continuous delivery pipelines
• Ensure QA standards and agreed processes are applied within the team.
• Identify technical improvements that will benefit the business
• Coordinating and managing the planning of the system tests, including elements of software security testing

What you will need to succeed

• Tertiary Qualification in Software Engineering (or similar) and a certification such as ISTQB / CSTP desired
• 4-5 years testing experience within a structured testing environment
• Experience of working in an agile environment
• Experience in the effective utilisation of the technologies in our stack (Jenkins, Selenium / Webdriver, Cucumber, AWS, JMeter and Java)
• Experience testing SOAP and REST APIs using tools such as SOAPUI
• Experience in web testing / mobile testing and scripting languages
• Experience in command line / terminal for automation
• Experience using SQL and Query languages
• Experience with a development IDE such as IntelliJ or editors such as Vim or Emacs
