A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work as a Pasifika Librarian at Waitakere Central Henderson Library. .

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Waitakere Central Henderson Library delivers a service for customers to access library services in the centre of Henderson.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Pasifika communities and promote a range of Pasifika-centric programmes in collaboration with other Henderson-Massey local board branches.

You will be an advocate for the Pasifika voice and develop key relationships in the Henderson Massey Pasifika community.

As part of the front-line team at Henderson Library, you will assist with the everyday operations of the library. You'll provide a level of customer service that is second to none and you will have our community at your heart.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You are innovative, confident, willing to learn and ‘give it a go'. You will have an interest in delivering programmes to connect with our Pasifika community. Strong communication, networking and digital skills are a must. If you can speak a Pasifika language, it would be an advantage.

A collaborative team member, you're willing to advocate internally for the needs and expectations of Pasifika as customers. Excellent digital skills and strong attention to detail, with proven customer service experience, are all key skills and attributes that will set you up for success. You are also willing to learn and have passion for enabling and assisting community groups.

This is a permanent opportunity working 38 hours per week on a variable schedule. Waitakere Central Henderson Library is open seven days a week so flexibility around working hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays is required.
