SMTS Software System Design Engineer- 106241
The Role:
We are looking for a Functional Safety Manager within AMD and you will be part of a highly creative team targeting critical AMD growth markets such as autonomous driving. Your task will be to provide technical leadership for the product line safety function and for its customers. You will perform this in close cooperation with different functional owners within AMD.
This exciting role will not only require extensive project leadership skills but also a detailed understanding of system safety standards within the automotive and industrial markets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive changes needed within the organization to secure ISO26262 and IEC 61508 compliance.
- Be responsible for assessing and resolving product line compliance to the internal Safety Case Policy.
- Direct re-use of safety cases and re-use of designs through advice, metrics reporting, and timely escalation in order to achieve the required standards of leadership in safety and cost.
- Take ownership of safety process improvement
- Take ownership for developing and providing training, mentor and assessment and be the experienced technical resource for the engineers in the product lines.
- Recognize when and how to address critical system safety topics with customers and represent the business in forums.
- Be the main contributor of the implementation of a work process that is aligned to the ISO26262 and IEC 61508 standards.
- Participate in evaluations of proposed technical solutions (in decided architecture) with the purpose to judge the possibility of developing and calibrating a SW solution
- Participate as a representative of the FuSa team within system teams (for example when performing Hazard Analysis, FMEA, FTA, etc)
- Plan and detail the system safety activities and work products in a System Safety Plan
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with software development is a plus
- Experience with the ISO26262 standard
- Extensive knowledge of system safety and monitoring methods
- Proficient in English, spoken and written
Academic Credentials:
- Master of Science within in Electrical, Mechanical, Applied Physics, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent experience
