Silicon Design Engineer

The role:

As a member of the FTO Test chip and Logic Quality team you will engage in early technology bring up and test chip physical design, timing closure and physical verification.  You will also engage in PPA optimization using leading edge foundry technology and EDA tools.

The person:

You will be part of a team to craft and tapeout SOC with IP and logic tiles for technology yield and reliability learning. You will work in various roles including PNR, Static Timing Analysis, Physical Verification and Top-Level Floorplan/PNR.  You are a team player who thrives within a collaborative environment as well as excels at personal challenges to grow and expand your knowledge base.   You take pride in finding new opportunity to improve PPA for AMD products.

Preferred experience:

  • PD experience with multiple tape outs using industry standard synthesis, place and route, timing sign-off and physical verification tools.
  • Analyze design PPA (Power, Performance, Area) and devise improvements through architectural or flow optimizations
  • Experience with full chip static timing analysis (STA) and EMIR sign-off is preferred.

Academic credentials:

  • EE Bachelor’s degree  or higher
