The Company

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a family owned Main Contractor with offices based in East London. We have worked with them for several years and successfully introduced numerous candidates who have gone on to have fruitful careers with them.

They are a medium sized contractor, delivering a wide variety of schemes primarily in London and Essex. This can include schools (primary/secondary/higher education), offices, residential (both their own developments and on behalf of others) and more. These can be relatively straight forward demolition and new build schemes, or complex cut & carve and even refurbishment work on listed buildings.

The Project

Our client has successfully secured the contract to deliver a Grade 1 Listed refurbishment of a building in Central London. The project comes in just under £20m and is due to start on site around April 2022 and run for approximately 2 years.

Both extensive external and internal works are due to be carried out, with the obvious attention to detail and care needed when working on a listed building. High end finishes throughout (including a joinery package that comes in just over £1m on its own).

The Role

You will be working as part of the Site Management team (will be a total of 3) working under the supervision and guidance of a site based Project Manager. You will either be allocated specific packages to look after, or specific areas depending on how they decided to set the job up.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day activity on site, managing the subcontractor(s) under your remit, leading on H&S, undertaking your own QA and reporting back to the Project Manager.

You will need to be SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualified.
