Job Description

This role is ideally suited to an engineer with experience using Simulink for algorithm and software design utilising the autocode features within the Mathworks environment.


The role will be based at Raytheon’s Harlow facility and the successful applicant will report directly to the Modelling and Simulation (M&S) Lead within the Future Systems team. The successful candidate will have access to professional development opportunities and be part of the growing Defence Business in Raytheon UK, delivering engineering expertise across a wide range of projects to both military and civil customers worldwide. The successful applicant will support the Weapons department across various Future Systems programmes and will involve the following 

Main Duties:
• Executing activities associated with software design and autocode implementation
• Working with the M&S Lead to define work packages and technical requirements
• Individually contribute to the execution and delivery of key work packages
• Work with the Advanced Weapons team to assist in the implementation of the advanced weapons development strategy

Candidate Requirements
Essential:

• Experience in the use of Matlab and Simulink
• Experience in the use of Simulink for code generation and for targeting real-time machines
• Knowledge of the development of bespoke performance models
• Experience of development using of model design and model based systems engineering techniques

Desirable:
• Demonstrable experience of the implementation of weapon system modelling and simulation.
• Knowledge of the development of bespoke flight control models
• Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics techniques
