Silicon Design Engineer 2
The Role:
As a Silicon Design Engineer you will design new flow features around new EDA tools and tool capabilities. You will develop innovative physical design place and route methodology and flow solutions to meet current and future design challenges.
The Person:
The successful candidate will be able to identify complex technical problems, break them down, summarize multiple possible solutions and drive them in the right direction.
He/she will have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing new flow features around new EDA tools.
Tuning the design flows to achieve optimal power, performance, area and turn around time.
Improving and maintaining the flow infrastructure and automation.
Developing innovative physical design place & route methodology and flow solutions to meet current and future digital design challenges.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Synthesis, Placement, Clock tree synthesis, Optimization, Routing, Parasitic Extraction, Static Timing Analysis, IR drop analysis, Physical Verification & Sign Off.
Capable of technical discussions with multi-site engineers and managers.
Ability to work closely with EDA vendors to evaluate their capabilities and drive future improvements to meet roadmap requirements.
Good UNIX and scripting programming skills (Perl, Python and/or TCL).
Good RTL analysis skills including Verilog, Timing Analysis, library understanding and PPA optimization strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of CAD tools from Synopsys, Cadence or Mentor Graphics.
Knowledge of latest technology nodes and exposure to ML and AI is a plus.
Strong communication, Time Management and Presentation skills.
A self starter able to act independently and efficiently drive tasks to conclusion.
Academic Credentials:
Bachelor/Master’s Degree Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred
MSEE or MSCE in ASIC Physical Design a plus
