About this role
To ensure that EMS is equipped to deliver, maintain and manage the availability of services through the ITIL Service Continuity practice across all customer contracts. The role is to minimise customer impact in the event of disruptive/major incidents that cause great damage or serious loss to customer services by incorporating strategic planning and managing the recovery of IT services promptly whilst safeguarding the interests of key stakeholders and our organisation’s reputation, brand, and value-creating activities.
The service continuity practice and success factors are audited both internally and externally to ensure governance and compliance with CMMI, ISO20000, ISO27001 and ISO22301 international standards. This role also ensures that service consumer and service provider work collaboratively to deliver the required IT supporting infrastructure, enabling continuous operation on this highly sensitive and complex infrastructure, delivering towards strategic business functions and critical to society capabilities.
As a result of the above the role seeks to incorporate Business Continuity aspects in support of the client business.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Accountable for leading the Service Continuity Management (SCM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) processes across the business estate delivering all service continuity and business continuity requirements and obligations outlined in the customer contract.
Accountable for ensuring adherence to the SCM and BCM practices and processes by all appropriately security cleared personnel who carry out all SCM functions on the required contracts including BCM activities.
Influence wider ITIL strategic direction across 34 other practices ensuring the ITIL framework is implemented and linkages between practices are clear and relevant across the customer estate.
Recommends improvements to the processes they are responsible for and ensures these are implemented by key stakeholders. Accountable for linkage and measurement between processes across the customer contracts and agreeing any Operational Level Agreements between the practices.
Incubates new technologies and identifies market opportunity to increase revenue and value streams within the contract environment.
Own strategic Service Continuity Management delivering safeguards in the interest of Critical National Infrastructure in the event of disaster.
Leading the Senior Contract and Service Management teams in disaster recover planning / testing and recovery from disruptive events. Events classed as disasters that potentially threaten the customer’s vital business functions are defined in agreement between the customer and Service Continuity Specialist.
Responsible for the direct peer to peer relationship between BT Service Continuity Management and the customer, maintaining a high level of professionalism, integrity and subject matter expertise.
You'll have the following skills & experience
Experience in Service continuity and Business continuity management.
Technical background with understanding of secure contracts
Excellent stakeholder management & communication skills.
Strong Risk Management skills.
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in managing highly disruptive/disastrous events/live DR testing.
Security Clearance: SC capability minimum (DV – desirable)
Extensive experience in service continuity and business continuity management.
Leadership experience.
A very good understanding of ITIL environments including accreditation of ITIL Foundation (V3 or 4)
Certification in Service Continuity or Business Continuity discipline such as BCI (Desirable).
The role holder must have significant experience in working and leading in an IT environment using ITIL framework. They will also understand how effective implementation of these services will enable the business to be best in class in the industry.
In depth knowledge of managed customer solutions and market dynamics in a service context.
