Your Role
The specialist will support delivery of Operational Acceptance Testing requirements of which a key element will be Disaster Recovery for new solutions. This role will ensure that the current and future DR processes are in place to counteract interruptions to business activities and to protect critical business processes from the effects of major failures of information systems or disasters. The role requires a basic understanding of Disaster Recovery processes and procedures, but training and support will be provided.
As part of wider OAT that the Service Assurance team are responsible for The Service Assurance Specialist will support delivery of DR tests for new solutions and carry out annual tests for Tier 0,1 legacy solutions.
The role involves working with stakeholders at all levels of the business in delivering a variety of service assurance activities and will require the building and maintaining of excellent relationships with those external and internal stakeholders.
You will be accountable and responsible for.
- Support the establishment and implementation of Service Assurance processes, standards, and policies.
- Work with the Future programme and project teams to ensure as part of go live comprehensive Operational Acceptance Testing is competed prior to ‘Go Live'.
- Work closely with core SaaS vendors to understand and provide assurance against their DR capability and delivery.
- Facilitate the efficient transfer of new systems into production by working with the Service Design and Transition team.
- Ensure that at least all Tier 0,1 and 2 systems have a DR playbook in place and processes and procedures are available in a disaster situation.
- Support the management of the overall Business Continuity Planning (BCP) / Disaster Recovery (DR) testing process.
- Liaise with infrastructure architects and service owners to ensure DR and BC procedures are implemented and are aligned with expectations.
- As part of continuous assurance identify and raise risks where required recovery capability is in place and / or tested.
- Provide continuous assurance by way of regular reporting to senior and exec management.
- Where required support conducting Business Impact Assessments (BIA) to identify, analyse and evaluate the business requirements for IT service availability.
About you:
- ITIL Foundation Certificate preferred but not essential
- Self-starter and keen to learn
- Logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to engage with functional stakeholders and collaborate on the design and implementation of DR plans and processes.
- Exposure to Cloud technologies
- Ability to convey information succinctly and concisely to all levels.
- Presents a welcoming attitude to change and adjusts dynamically to continuous business change and improvement.
