Job Description
The role of Senior Engineer at CBRE encompasses both project management and term consultancy requirements for both internal and external Clients.
You will provide vertical transportation technical knowledge, advice and support to building management teams across a wide variety of properties from small one-unit premises to high profile buildings and estates with multiple VT equipment. This support will include project management of lift refurbishment and replacements from initial survey, writing technical specifications, tendering duties through to compliance audits, witness testing, snagging and sign off.
Key Responsibilities-
- Inspect, survey and audit all types of vertical transportation equipment to ensure the services are operating efficiently and safely. Provide reports in the form of audit summary, condition, feasibility, dilapidations and technical due diligence, completing relevant report templates for onward submission to the client.
- Provide full project management and monitoring services, to include feasibility, writing technical specifications, market tendering, project stage management and close out of the works. Driving projects through to full client satisfaction delivering the scope and service required on time and budget.
- Provide technical consultancy support throughout the various stages of project works inclusive of financial stage payments, key stage meetings and client updates.
- Carry out audits and condition reports on existing equipment and advise on plant repairs and replacement programmes, budget requirements and prioritise key elements.
- Review Statutory Examination Reports and ensure that Clients are properly advised of statutory obligations, defect repair options and associated costs.
- Monitor contractor performance on planned preventive maintenance and minor works focussing on quality and compliance.
- Advise Client and occasionally Tenants on compliance with current regulations, British Standards and all statutory obligations.
- Respond to ad-hoc enquiries and provide advice and cost estimates for inclusion in service charge budgets; provide plant replacement programmes and works prioritisation, etc.
- Review progress on any landlord or tenant works and their impact on the operation of the property.
- Arrange and chair and/or attend contract review meetings with Clients, facilities managers and the appointed contractors, to review key performance indicators, additional works and any landlord or tenant related matters.
- Prepare PPM maintenance works tender documentation and obtain competitive tenders and provide post tender analysis reports. Produce maintenance contract documentation and servicing schedules.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in vertical transportation equipment – lifts, escalators, platforms.
- Preferably BEng or BSc Building Services Engineering/HND in Lift Engineering
- Carrying out equipment surveys and preparing and presenting comprehensive reports
- Lift/Escalator Project Management experience
- Understand client requirements/objectives
- Knowledge of statutory legislation and other standards
- Good communication/presentation skills
