The Microsoft Azure UX team is looking for a Senior Product Designer to elevate the user experience for Azure - the world’s computer. In this role you would work alongside the Azure Command Line Interface (CLI) Tools team to improve the experience of developers using command line tools such as Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell and Terraform to manage Azure, as well as learn from and grow in a vibrant global community of designers and researchers.

Responsibilities

As a designer on our team, you’ll be responsible for delivering design and innovation across several facets of the design process, including sketching, prototyping, storyboarding, information architecture, interaction design, and usability. You’ll leverage and contribute to Azure design patterns and work in an iterative manner, scoping and prioritizing work across multiple projects.  You’ll be an advocate for the user and champion industry-leading, inclusive, and user-centered design practices.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• 6+ years’ experience working in product or service design.
• Demonstrated ability to influence product direction and balance user needs and business goals.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical cross-functional team members.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on text-based interface used by developers
• A high-quality portfolio review presentation is required to interview for this role. Your presentation should communicate your work experience and demonstrate your design and communication skills.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:  This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
