 Senior System Emulation Lead

THE ROLE:

The Data Center GPU team is having explosive growth and is positioned to compete in the high-performance computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) segments.  

This role will support the Chief Engineer and will define the end-to-end strategy of our Emulation process, be the primary technical interface and develop our testing plans

At AMD, we use Collaborative Test Approach (CTA) from start through handover-to-sustaining

The role will act as a cross-functional technical liaison between Systems, validation, product engineering, design, software, and customers to ensure root cause closure on difficult to solve technical problems.

THE PERSON:

The candidate must also have a strong understanding of the general silicon engineering process (preferably CPU or GPU), from concept to tape-out to production.

Furthermore, the candidate should have experience with driving a multi-site and multi-disciplined engineering program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accountable for all SOC-Platform level emulation.  Set’s plan and drives execution
• Collaborative Test Approach execution management testing post-silicon to enable product introduction
• Provides technical recommendations for feature enablement/removal, Tape-out, Engineering Change Review, and SW release to core team and Project Director
• Owns tools requirements across product validation and production needs (internal vs. external)
• Drives validation knowledge exchange with design Pre-Si for development of validation plans
• Point of contact for customer technical communication
• Driving cross-functional (platform, PEO, design, software) engineering coordination

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Strong understanding of CPU and memory architecture
• Strong system-level knowledge
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management as well as AMD customers
• Ability to network, build relationships and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization
• Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines
   

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• The candidate must have a BS or MSEE degree and extensive experience in new product development from a design, platform and/or product engineering discipline.
• The candidate should have experience both as a technical lead as well as a project manager.
