The Azure IoT Air Gap Cloud team provides a globally scalable, multi-tenant SaaS platform to simplify the digital transformation for our customers. The team is looking for a hands-on, experienced technical leader who wants to shape the future where billions of smart devices autonomously connect to Azure IoT Platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team of software engineers that builds, deploys, and operates all IoT services (Hub, Edge, Twins, Central, and DPS) in an Air Gap Cloud environment, initially focusing on Hub. The IoT platform supports connecting, organizing, and managing large scale of devices, bi-directional communication between the devices and the cloud with high efficiency and low latencies.

• Work closely with Program Management and IoT Air Gap Cloud leadership to help define the product's vision and strategy

Qualifications

Required 

• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams through all phases of the development cycle.
• Experience building, growing, and managing engineering teams 
• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent industry experience.

Preferred 

• Demonstrated ability to lead by influencing and working effectively cross-group
• Proven track record of design and technical accomplishment, excellent analytical skills, and ability to abstract concepts to think in terms of object oriented design
• Experience with full stack development leveraging open source technologies and Azure services
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical details across organizational boundaries
• Proven track record of shipping highly scalable, available and reliable services
• Experience operating with Azure or other Cloud Services

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:   

- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

- Candidates must have an active US Government TS/SCI security clearance and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph), or have an active TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.
