About this role

When you join us a Software Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to be a part of  a team building these future services and helping to define how people consume these services.

You’ll be able to use your skills to simplfy how our customers connect with each other. 

You'll have the following responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate senior software engineer responsible for taking BT forward. 

You’ll be:

Writing high performance, well tested code.

Working with a simple light weight microservices architecture – consuming to build exciting frontends.

Leading other developers and reporting to wider stakeholders 

Documenting what’s been done, not because it ticks a box, but because it’s useful.

Working with other developers to develop and share your knowledge.

Working in a team delivering “full stack” software – from frontend portals, to middle ware to backend depending on what’s required.

Wanting to learn new things and keen to bring the team onboard with new ideas.

You'll have the following skills & experience

Indepth Knowledge of Javascript, Typescript and React.

Using REST and APIs in general

Using browser developer tools

Understanding of Linux as a runtime environment 

Git for source control

Knowldege of MySQL – data stores in general, when to use RDBMS over NOSQL etc.

Jira 

Agile Development using Scrum

CI and possibly some CD experience
