Team Overview :

Our team (Application and Platform Monitoring) has the charter to deliver a converged core telemetry platform of choice for the company. The team works on developing unified telemetry configuration and collection for external and internal Microsoft customers. We are enabling every part of the company Azure, Office, Devices, Edge to deliver success to external Azure customers (Azure Monitor) and to internal customers (DRIs) improving live site and service quality (across Geneva, Asimov, Xpert, Aria etc.).

Today, Microsoft’s telemetry systems ingest petabytes of data every day. Every day! That is massive scale! Our telemetry systems are the lifeline of Office, Azure, Windows, Xbox, and the thousands of cloud services run by our customers.

Responsibilities

The explicit goal of the core telemetry platform is to provide a consolidated and comprehensive control plane platform that can be used to configure, deploy and control the telemetry workloads. This system will support both first-party and third-party scenarios with a consistent set of APIs and user interfaces. You will be part of the team which builds the best in class offering on Azure Monitor and taking advantage of the latest Azure principles and design constructs.

Our direct contribution is enabling telemetry flow and visibility for external and internal customers at scale of Azure, Office, Xbox by establishing configuration and control model. We’re looking for full stack engineers who are passionate about building E2E large scale distributed systems and creating best in class product experiences. We’re looking for smart, highly motivated and innovative developers who are passionate about building and debugging great cloud services at scale. You will need to be technically deep and effective, contributing to actual coding, design and architecture work to the team and the system. You will also own creating the right infrastructure and process so that we can ship code into production environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications : 

 

5+ years in development and design experience (C/C++/C# and/or Java) with demonstrated experience shipping products, services

A Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline

 

 

Preferred Qualifications :

Understanding of Azure artifacts like service fabric, cosmos db, cloud services, event hubs, etc.

Excellent analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design

Great communication and problem-solving skills

Working knowledge of any CI/CD engine

Experience with full stack development
