We are part of the Azure networking team responsible for designing, building and operating critical network services that will help us differentiate from our fierce competitors and generate new revenue. We are responsible for enabling enterprises to connect their on-premise networks and devices to the cloud, in the most secure and performant way possible. We provide VPN Site-Site, Point-Site and express route connectivity to the Azure customers. Our team also builds application delivery services such as load balancing and firewalls. At the core of these services is a solid SDN and NFV infrastructure that we continuously innovate on to improve agility, reliability and cost effectiveness of our services. Our team's innovations are well recognized in the cloud and networking industry. 

The Brooklyn team is building core connectivity pieces for all Azure VPN & Onprem connectivity offering. Team is building new service which will bring secure connectivity to millions of Microsoft Consumer space customers. This includes building large scale yet low cost VPN solution to provide unlimited number of branches, mobile users as well as unlimited bandwidth, Azure Infra VPN, onprem connectivity and many SDN Wan optimization & functionality to the customers.  

Connectivity will be bundled with security to provide network as a service to the customers. We own entire service end-end from user facing interface to management plane and all the way down to data path implementation in windows drivers. Our team is looking for software engineers who are searching for a challenge to design, implement, deploy, and monitor large-scale distributed systems in an agile environment. We are also transitioning all VPN services from per tenant deployment to multi-tenant deployments, we are working on designing very high scale multi-tenant networking and VPN stack for next generation VPN services. 

Responsibilities

We seek candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:  

• Networking 
• Distributed Systems
• Virtualization (hypervisors; VM switching), performanceoptimization 
• Designing and running large-scale fault-tolerant infrastructure services
• RESTful Services

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of Software development experience preferably in a networking and/or distributed systems environment 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Systems programming experience
• Solid Design and Dev skills
• Proven ability to solve hard problems (scale, performance, reliability)
• Intense eagerness to learn, ready to dive deep into complex problems
• Passion and drive for profound impact
• Experience with Networking and Azure technologies is a plus
• BS or MS or PhD degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
