The Azure Front Door and DNS team is looking for a Senior Software engineer to design and implement globally distributed, scalable and low latency services which offer DNS, application acceleration, and service protection to our critical customers such as Office 365, Xbox, Azure services, and 3rd party customers. Our mission is to delight our customers by providing DNS solutions and features for both public and private, on-premises zones as well as offer HTTP level CDN, Global Load balancing and WAF protection against DoS and other threats to enable them to maintain high availability and consistency for their workloads.
We collaborate closely within our team and other product teams at Microsoft to ensure we’re maximizing efficiency and deploying highly instrumented code to generate metrics across millions of requests/sec and records from thousands of servers located around the globe. We embrace Open Source (both using and contributing), cross platform (Windows/Linux), and develop across languages (C/C++/C#).
We are looking for a developer who will work with a team of peers to maintain the engineering culture where a single engineer wears all the hats necessary to design, implement, validate and release great features on several of our critical components. The components that you will be working on span our portal, scalable restful API layer built on top of geo-replicated data stores and health monitoring that helps build self-healing systems.
You will provide technical, end-to-end leadership to the projects that you are a part of and mentor/coach other engineers to drive our high achieving, collaborative, and friendly team culture.
