The Azure Cost Management team is responsible for enabling customers to understand their expenses, manage their usage and optimize their Azure resource use. We are looking for a strong Senior SDE to innovate and build scalable systems that enables large customers to handle, process and analyze Azure cost data at scale. This class of customers has specific needs and require integrating this data into their existing platforms that can vary widely. We are looking for a Senior SDE with customer empathy who can help design services to meet these needs and craft plans to deliver flexible engineering solutions. Azure is growing at a breakneck speed; we need to ensure that our strategy can continue to support this growth while providing great reliability and latency.

We are looking for someone to:

• Design and develop key services and features to enable large customers to manage their cloud costs.
• Contribute to establishing best practices and managing the health of existing services.
• Collaborate with partner teams to evolve the Azure Cost management services.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience developing commercial software or services.
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field or 6+ year equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of experience working with distributed systems, web services or big data platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise with a programming languages like C#, Java, JavaScript or Scala.
• Experience with Azure.
• Experience collaborating with partner teams to deliver customer scenarios.
• Experience with design architecture.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity.
• Experience with or exposure to agile, iterative, and data-driven development processes.
• Proven track record in mentoring teams of 3-4 Junior Software Engineers while coding as an individual contributor.
