The Azure Dial-tone Infrastructure and services are the underlying foundational services that power many other Azure infrastructure services including Engineering Pipeline, Incident Management System, Production Access Platform, etc. Azure Dial-tone Infrastructure and services are required to build, operate, and support entire Azure and many Microsoft cloud services, therefore have extremely high resiliency, reliability, and scalability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to our software engineering projects to deliver well-defined products that generate immediate customer value and deliver high-quality, broadly applicable software contributions.
• Collaborate with customers’ engineers to deliver solutions using a wide range of technologies.
• Develop deep technical relationships with Azure engineering teams to influence roadmaps based on customer insights.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support to the broader CSE team in the Cloud Native Platforms and Services space.
• Continuously build your technical knowledge, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior team members to drive excellence in engineering as a cohesive, efficient, and productive unit.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors required. MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field desired.
• 5+ years of Cloud Service development or test, debug and validation experience.
• Experience shipping products and having been through at least one development cycle.
• Experience working in collaborative teams and cross-group efforts.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of storage, networking and system architectures.
• High tolerance to ambiguity and ability make progress when situations are in flux.
• Deep understanding of and passion for large distributed systems, Kubernetes, Service Fabric, and cloud technologies, including business drivers and emerging trends across Microsoft and non-Microsoft technologies.
• Experience working within and directing geographically disperse, diverse, and virtual teams.
• Awareness of, and ability to reason about, modern software & systems architectures, including load-balancing, queueing, caching, distributed systems failure modes, and microservices.
• Demonstrable ability to own and deliver software projects.
• Knowledge and passion for Agile development practices.
• Able to operate in ambiguity and drive clarity through partnerships.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
