The Engineering Systems (ES) team within Azure SQL builds and modernizes the tooling, pipelines, and processes that aim at the goals of high quality releases, high engineering efficiency, and effective development experience. The team enables touch-free flow of high-quality payloads from check-in to full production rollout in predictable, reliable, safe and scalable manner, while providing effective and efficient engineering experience.  It is a diverse team of people with various views, backgrounds, and beliefs, and fosters a friendly and inclusive environment where every individual is valued and can make a difference. Responsibilities

The team is hiring multiple engineers to modernize development, test, release tools, systems, and pipelines to meet compliance obligations and improve feature coverage and effectiveness. SQL Server product line has many products in the market and under development. Overtime the test and release systems need to be updated, enhanced, or revamped to reflect the latest compliance requirement, cloud infrastructure, and engineering efficiency. We need several new team members to lead the effort of such modernization. The roles will have close interactions and collaborations with the engineering teams building Azure SQL and the Azure wide engineering system teams to define, drive, implement, and deliver the new pipeline and infrastructure. It is a great opportunity to learn the products and services of Azure SQL, Azure engineering systems, and Microsoft Azure. Qualifications

• Seven or more years of industry experience designing, developing, and shipping high quality scalable software or services.
• Seven or more years of solid understanding of commonly used data structure and algorithms, and proven ability to apply them towards solving tough problems.
• Experience in database products or services.
• Experience and ability to be a technical leader in a project.
• Strong structured problem solving, analytics and modeling skills. 
• Comfort with ambiguity, clarity of communication and willingness to take on big challenges. 
• Strong written and verbal communications skills; experience in presenting complex solutions. 
• Strong collaboration and partnership skills.
• Customer focus and passion for improving engineering productivity.
• A BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field.
