You will build, design and operate platforms and products that help mobile operators leverage the Azure to accelerate the digital transformation of their core network operations in order to launch new services in an agile fashion, elastically scale to meet the every growing demand for mobile service and dramatically improve operational efficiency thru infrastructure simplification and process automation.

Responsibilities

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who want to work in a startup-like environment and enjoy tough challenges. You will partner with key Azure platform teams to create products that enable operators to adopt Azure to host their core network infrastructure and operations. Our market opportunity is huge, and our team is expanding.

You will join us in building an Azure-based platform to host operator grade network functions in operators’ premises. You will collaborate with several teams across Azure core to build an  Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure(NFVi) platform that operates across public clouds, operator datacenters and the edge.

As a Senior SWE you will contribute to the NFVi product vision and be responsible for architecting solutions ground-up.

You will

  • Take features from ideation to successful global roll out
  • Act as an expert code and design reviewer and mentor other engineers
  • Accelerate development velocity for all engineers and deliver continuous improvements to the team’s process and codebase
  • Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents
  • Build strong cross group collaboration with other cross-geo teams to remove blockers and drive for comprehensive end-end service delivery
  • Leverage other data platforms (open source and within Microsoft) for building solutions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial software development
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field
  • Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software
  • Ability to engage in site-reliability engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn and grasps concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Great problem solving skills and outstanding drive for results
  • Commitment to collaboration and teamwork and ability to deliver via influence
  • Self-starter, who proactively identifies problems and drives for resolution
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes
  • Experience with private cloud technologies such as OpenStack and VMWare
  • Advanced technical degree (MS/PhD) is a plus

Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
