What you’ll do:

• Real time data processing and RESTful microservices in Scala (Finch, Spray/Akka HTTP and Play)
• Helping develop the in-house recommendation engine which uses Kafka, Spark Streaming and Cassandra
• Looking into how our recommendation engine can evolve with machine learning
• Having the freedom to self-organise as part of a cross functional agile team
• Refining the team processes to continuously integrate and working towards a continuously deliverable application
• Championing best practices such as Pair Programming and TDD in order to develop clean, resilient code that performs at serious scale
• Coaching and providing feedback to fellow developers

What you’ll bring:

• Challenge technical choices, architecture, tools and processes
• Proven experience in Scala with a passion for technology
• Ability to review code and give feedback that makes your team even better
• Working in a motivated team, empowered to meet ambitious goals
• You will actively aim to improve overall software quality

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There’s also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
