The Azure for Operators team, part of the Worldwide Azure Product Group, is accountable for leveraging deep industry and technical expertise to enable sales teams and partners to deliver relevant, customized industry solutions and services, built on a secure, integrated cloud platform, to empower our customers to digitally transform their businesses. It’s no longer just about one simple software solution; it’s about creating a connected, secure, efficient, and scalable digital ecosystem. Further, they will guide our engineering teams to address key needs as part of the product roadmaps.

The Sales Executive for the South Africa region will identify new business opportunities, own the sales strategy and account planning for these opportunities, and bring them to closure. The ideal candidate will have experience selling into Tier 1 operators and should have demonstrated success in leading economic value discussions with senior executives to drive key decisions. Candidates need to leverage knowledge of industry trends, Microsoft AFO solutions and the Tier 1 operators priorities, to develop and deliver compelling value propositions. They should possess the ability to impact and influence the customer with a high degree of autonomy, energy, enthusiasm, and manage expectations throughout the sales cycle and closing process.

 

Responsibilities

Sales Execution

Engages with customers aligned to their industry to introduce how other workloads could enable digital transformation to turn opportunities into deals.

Drives incremental revenue growth through personal campaigns or internal sources

Collaborates with account teams, partners, or services to track and qualify new opportunities and builds and tracks pipeline

Implements strategies to accelerate the closing of deals and contributes input on strategies to drive and close prioritized opportunities.

Technical Expertise

A subject matter expert in solution area(s).

Proactively provides analysis of the competitive landscape in supported solution area. Evaluates opportunities and makes recommendations on pursuit or withdrawal.

Sales Excellence

Manages the end-to-end business of the assigned territory. Conducts forecasting for accounts and develops a portfolio and territory plan to drive intentional selling aligned with strategic priorities.

Collaborates with partners and resources and leverages customer insights or industry knowledge.

Reviews feedback report and coaches others on ensuring customer/partner satisfaction and decreasing dissatisfaction by establishing recovery action plans to improve clients' overall experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience

OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 4+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.

5+ years of telecommunications vertical experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.

OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience

OR Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.

4+ years of solution or services sales experience.

Proven experience selling into Tier 1 provider and demonstrated success in leading economic value discussions with senior executives to drive key decisions.

Strong understanding of Cloud and the value / cost drivers that it can drive.

Master communicator with superb ability to translate technology solutions into business outcome driven sales tools.

Deep Telco expertise to enable translation of business requirements into field and customer messaging, sales wins and helping customers transform their business.

Skilled at privatization, creating order and marshalling resources towards achieving a common goal.

Confidence under pressure especially within tight timelines.

Experienced in solution selling methodology.
