We are looking for a Senior Researcher to work on various machine learning related topics, including deep learning/neural networks, natural language understanding and generation, multi modal systems, conversational agents and cross-domain transfer learning. You will be collaborating with researchers and core Engineering teams across the globe on high business impact problems with research agenda that productizes ML based solutions at scale to improve user experience and productivity. We expect the candidate to conduct, apply, publish research, and deploy solutions at scale that have meaningful impact across a wide range of Office products and services.  

Location will be Redmond, US.

Responsibilities

• Advance the state of the art in ML and related areas.   
• Work with a small group of fellow researchers and product engineering teams to execute practical solutions for real-world impact.   
• Driving the end-to-end research agenda from establishing the problem definition to building algorithms and models.   
• Publish and contribute to top scientific conferences and journals.   

Qualifications

• Has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Machine Learning, or related fields. 
• Experience with machine learning algorithms, deep learning, natural language processing and/or computer vision. 
• Knowledge of recent advancements in ML such as transformer-based architectures, few shot learning, etc.  
• Proven track record of publications at top conferences and journals such as ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, AAAI, etc.  
• Strong analytical, applied research, and communication skill.   
• Ability and desire to get up to speed and contribute to new topics and techniques.  
• Work independently and in a team, take initiative and lead engagements as required.
