For our Microsoft Research Amsterdam lab, we are seeking exceptional Senior Research Engineer candidates in the area of Deep Learning. The successful applicant is expected to coordinate an engineering program working with a team of researchers. This is an exceptional opportunity to drive all aspects of engineering for an ambitious research initiative while collaborating with a diverse team of other researchers and engineers to push the state of the art in deep learning for molecular modelling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate all engineering aspects as part of an ambitious, high-impact, research agenda in deep learning for chemistry and molecular dynamics, within the context of a highly collaborative research culture. This includes development infrastructure, dataset handling, development processes, and resource management.
  • Develop research infrastructure for rapid machine learning experimentation.
  • Collaborate with researchers and across the larger organization to identify and address future engineering needs of the project.
  • Work with researchers as part of a team towards ambitious research milestones.

Qualifications

  • Experience in research in machine learning, deep learning, computational chemistry/physics, or a related area, for example demonstrated by a completed MSc or PhD, or technical achievements.
  • Demonstrated track record of high-quality machine learning engineering as part of a larger team.
  • Strong understanding of state-of-the-art deep learning approaches.
  • Preferably experience with molecular dynamics and/or quantum chemistry methods.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Passion to see research have real-world impact on key challenges for society
