Xbox Studios Quality is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer with a growth mindset to help run the quality efforts across broad portions of Minecraft. In this role you will be accountable for partnering with the Xbox Studios Quality organization and multiple Mojang Studios feature teams in day-to-day efforts, including the planning and execution on modern and innovative quality strategies. You will interact with multiple disciplines on feature teams to help shape the quality of the product. Additionally, you will leverage your background in software quality and cross-group collaboration to increase team efficiency, influence feature quality strategies, and to evolve our culture of quality with enhanced processes and technology. 

  

As a member of Xbox Studios Quality, you will also be part of a larger community of Quality Analysts and Engineers, Software Engineers, and Data Scientists supporting quality for world class products across Xbox Game Studios.

Responsibilities

• Own and help improve quality strategies for key features and functionality in the Minecraft franchise. 
• Coach and mentor team members on career development and software testing methodologies.
• Use your experience to provide ideas, suggestions, and feedback to the team to help grow its capabilities.
• Improve efficiency of the team and accelerate test coverage with automation.
• Monitor, summarize, and communicate the quality of the product, state of quality efforts, and team plans and strategies to project leadership, including through formal presentations.

• Anticipate team needs 6+ months into the future and coordinate team planning accordingly. 
• Coordinate priorities across manual testing, data analysis, and software development teams to increase the immediate impact of shared deliverables. 

• Help build and foster a Quality-first culture for our team and our partners. 

Qualifications

• You have been responsible for the quality of multiple complex feature areas over multiple release cycles. 
• Proven experience contributing to the success of others through coaching and mentoring.

• Familiarity and basic capability in at least one coding language (JavaScript, Python, C/C++, C#, etc.).
• Practical, reliable, and efficient, you use solid prioritization and organization skills to solve problems and bring clarity to ambiguous situations.
• Experienced using test strategies that incorporate multiple methodologies, including data and automation usage. 

• Understanding of telemetry implementation and how to design effective health measures and indicators for quality.
