Major Core Programmes Quality Assurance provides a Quality Engineering Centre of Excellence to deliver and continuously improve Quality Engineering through innovation and automation, driving excellence in testing, supporting Enterprise Transformation Major Core Programmes and Value Streams, with a shared goal of building the best bank of the future.

About the role:

Joining us as a Senior Quality Engineer within MCP, you'll be leading a team of Quality Engineers to drive quality software solutions into production. You’ll be continually challenged, motivated, and define “Done” from a Quality perspective.

We'll continually challenge you to identify and try innovative approaches and technical solutions alongside existing solutions, identifying the best way to achieve desired outcomes.

You'll inspire your team to embrace new technologies and new ways of working whilst driving their own development.

So what would you be doing for us?

  • You'll use your technical knowledge and experience to help develop Quality Engineering solutions to best meet the needs of a Cross Group Major Programme, in line with the Group Test Strategy, and will always seek to improve efficiency and effectiveness through new tooling and ways of working.
  • You'll ensure tight controls on budget and handle cost challenges to support the Group aims whilst maintaining quality delivery.
  • You'll not only manage test teams but also get hands on to create Test artefacts, writing automation Test scripts against user stories or requirements and will ensure Test traceability.
  • Understand risk and ensure we take the right approach to deliver safely but with pace.
  • Build confidence in the team and with stakeholders on the quality definition of the product.
  • Ensuring that Testing is conducted in a way which is consistent with - and exploits the collective frameworks, patterns and best practices that exist across the wider Test community.
  • You'll work with other Quality Engineers as well as Software Engineers, Performance Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Project Managers.
  • More than anything you'll bring passion and an open mind to help us develop new ways of doing things whilst developing your own skills and experience.

What we need from you:

  • Knowledge of cloud solutioning and testing migration to cloud and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Testing Practices on cloud, including experience in Live Data Compliance and Security Testing
  • Understanding of evergreen in Public and Private Cloud
  • Extensive experience in delivering platinum programmes including CMT management, programme reporting, RAID management and planning
  • Extensive experience and knowledge across the entire Test Lifecycle including Quality Engineering, Performance Engineering, Test Data and Environments
  • A sound understanding of the groups applications and the underpinning accountability model to ensure business critical systems are delivered inline to risk appetite
  • Experience of leading a team or teams across large programme delivery
  • Logical and creative thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build working relationships up to director level
  • Ability to work independently and to take ownership - and uses own initiative
  • ISTQB Manager Certification
  • Experience with agile development methods & tooling e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Jira & Confluence
