Who are Azure for Operators? 
 
AfO is our hybrid cloud solution for operators that helps our customers deploy, secure, and monetize their network services across Microsoft Azure and other platforms in a multi-cloud environment. AfO is building a team to help operators take advantage of the innovation unleashed by the introduction of technologies such as 5G, Software Defined Networking / Network Function Virtualization, Edge Compute and the next generation Internet of Things.   

Responsibilities

You will be excited by the global nature of this role and the opportunity for you to deliver projects in a variety of organisations with different cultures and practices. Some of your key responsibilities will include: 

• Leading large cross-functional Telecoms or Mobility (Evolved Packet Core) focused projects 
• Project managing resources that are a mix of internal, third-party and customer technical consultants
• Accountable for the successful delivery of the project with a focus on budget and time
• Working closely with senior project managers within our customers to ensure our project is aligned to the customer’s overall technology plan
• Development and management of requirements gathering, project plans, project risks/ action registers, schedules and acceptance criteria.
• Documenting scope of work and ensuring compliance throughout the project 

Qualifications

The fundamental skills of an experienced project manager will be essential to you successfully delivering for our customers, such as a strong results orientation and commitment to deadlines. You will also be able to demonstrate: 

• Extensive project management experience for software / technology products in the wireless operator market or Telecommunications sector.
• Experience planning, organising and delivering successful technology rollouts
• A track record of managing largescale, high budget projects in multiple geographies
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and other software tools associated with Project Management  
• An ability to accurately assess project impact of new business requirements and manage any change in scope.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification (desirable)
• General understanding in the areas of Mobile Core Networks (desirable)

The role will likely require regular customer visits within the EMEA region.
