Job summary
We are looking for an experienced product leader to drive key pillars of the vision for outbound marketing automation at Amazon worldwide.
Outbound Marketing (OM) teams mission is to proactively engage with customers to aid fulfilling their shopping missions. We do this by driving awareness and discovery of Amazon’s products and services and also enabling customers to take advantage of timely opportunities. We meet customers at their channel(s) of preference with the most relevant content at the right time and frequency. We directly create and operate programs and we have also enabled select partner teams to build programs by reusing and extending OM’s infrastructure. Our key input measures of success include reach and relevance (e.g. customer problem use cases/intents, message content, message availability) and customer engagement (e.g. click or tap-through, and opt-outs) to optimize for long-term customer value metrics.
You will be collaborating with teams of marketing specialists, TPMs software engineers, visual designers, and marketing managers across locales. Our environment requires someone who is well organized, logical, flexible, biased for action, detail-oriented, patient, and comfortable leading and working with multiple teams. We are seeking someone with demonstrated history of successful marketing program management, experience on leading large or complicated programs, and ability to clearly document and present their vision to leadership. Demonstrated capability on dealing with ambiguity, delivering innovative customer experiences, and simplifying processes will be key to success in this role.
· Bachelor's Degree
· 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
· Experience with end to end product delivery
· Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
· Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
· Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
· MBA and Engineering Degree, preferably in computer science
· 5+ years of experience owning and driving end-to-end large scale cross-functional programs of which 3+ in a tech/software (or equivalent) role.
· Experience overseeing roadmap strategy, definition, and execution with experience in driving customer facing (B2C/B2B) initiatives from ideation to adoption.
· Able to prioritize activities in complex projects/programs, and influence stakeholders, at times with limited direct authority
· Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product along with feature delivery and tradeoffs
· A proven track record of building new, innovative, and engaging customer experiences informed by customer data from various sources (market research, internal data bases, A/B testing, user research)
· Strong project management skills of breaking down tasks, simplifying roadmaps, establishing owners and timelines, status reporting and the ability to drive adoption of best practices/processes by proactively seeking stakeholder support
· Ability to work across multiple teams to create scalable solutions to monitor business performance and interpret key performance metrics into actionable recommendations
· Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
· Experience with data extraction, manipulation, and statistical analysis including SQL and expert level Excel (analysis, formulas)
· Experience working with heuristic/ML based features/technologies
· 2+ years of experience working on the B2C discovery experience (e.g. search, personalization, email/push marketing) for an online shopping service
· Proven success in delivering technology products/services in a legacy/mature system environment
· Experience with content management systems
· Cross geographical coordination experience
