Our Insurance and Wealth division helps personal and business customers with their general insurance, protection, investment and retirement needs through some of the biggest names on the high street. We support around 10 million customers with assets under administration of £155 billion and annuity payments in retirement of over £1 billion every year.
Within General Insurance our purpose is to implement a sustainable Home Insurance commercial strategy through collaborative relationships, providing insight and understanding through data, whilst balancing customer and business needs.
Pricing and Commercial is all about understanding how our Home Insurance offering is delivering for customers, channels and LBG’s bottom line. We have to be creative, open to testing innovative ways of working and good at seeing what the numbers tell us. Building relationships and collaborating with others are important to us, and we're proud to tell you our team members are resilient, have good judgement and also a sense of humour!
Our team works out of our Leeds hub, therefore we'll need you to be based a commutable distance from this area. We work in a hybrid model, splitting our time between the office and working from home.
Support key trading activity within the Customer Pricing team, analysing the market and overseeing price change
Drive forward innovation and improvements within pricing, utilising new data and enhanced modelling techniques
Building up expert knowledge to maintain and develop our suite of pricing models
Provision of key reports and insight to help steer pricing strategy
Give answers to a range of technical queries, supporting the wider business and handling key partner relationships
Representing pricing across business wide projects and coaching more junior members of the team on a day to day basis
Identifying, managing and mitigation of any risks in a timely manner within our control framework
There is no typical day in the life of a Senior Pricing Analyst making it both an exciting and rewarding role. As pricing is a key cornerstone within the business there’s opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of business wide initiatives to provide analytical expertise and help maintain our position as a leading General Insurance home provider.
4 years work experience in a pricing role
A proven understanding of actuarial modelling techniques such as Generalised Linear Modelling (GLM) and undertaking commercial evaluation
A numerical or statistical background (evidenced through a higher qualification in a quantitative field such as Mathematics or Finance)
Capable of delivering clear messages to partners and teams, providing clear, concise messaging to aid our colleagues understanding for colleagues
Skilled at planning and prioritising work to meet commitments aligned with organisational goals
Experience using SAS Studio, Tableau or VBA
Experience using specialist software such as Earnix or Emblem
