About us
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions. We work with several government agencies to coordinate metro, train, bus, ferry, light rail, road and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.
The Division
The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal network strategies and place plans across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.
The Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Planner, Culture to join us in the Central City unit of our Planning for Places team.
Based in Milsons Point, the role provides the opportunity to work across multi-disciplinary, matrixed teams delivering - long-term, state-wide strategic planning, place-based planning within a specific geographical area, integrated network planning, corridor preservation and other major projects.
What you will be involved in
Providing cultural and community engagement expertise to support the delivery of a range of place-based planning projects, to support the NSW government’s vision and priorities, and ensure alignment with Future Transport 2056, and 10 year Blueprint outcomes.
Using both quantitative and qualitative skills to support a deeper understanding of cultural strengths and identify opportunities to strengthen cultural outcomes.
Providing relevant and meaningful insights and advice on cultural and community needs, research and analysis, recommendations and prepare documentation/submissions to support the development of strategies and plans.
Engaging across NSW Government agencies to leverage cultural and community programs and strategies.
About you
You have a strong community engagement background with the natural ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, utilising a collaborative and co-design approach.
You possess demonstrated high level people management and communication skills with the ability to influence others and achieve cooperation with stakeholders in both NSW Government agencies and local communities.
You are a self-starter and use your initiative to manage competing work priorities and resolve issues independently.
You also have experience working in matrixed teams to tight deadlines and have a successful track record in delivering great customer experience outcomes.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 8 ($120,423 - $134,872) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
