Major responsibilities
- Join forces with fellow members of senior Finance leadership team
- Work to establish a successful and hard working team
- Handle payroll staff and operations
- Keep an eye on audits, internal and external
- Finish weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs. Interpret pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and make sure amounts/deductions are correctly applied to a number of earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws
- Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis
- Hold meetings with senior executives and cross-functional business leaders to show information and to answer any questions they may have
- Provide internal safeguards by taking the lead on record keeping and control systems
- Enhance current processes by suggesting, leading, and working on projects
- Lead and participate in pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies
- Track financial trends by executing payroll analysis
- Less than one year of experience
- Some know-how of payroll-related cloud-based technology solutions
- Comfortable with payroll applications
- Strong interpersonal skills are preferred in candidates applying for this position
- Canadian Payroll experience required
- Canadian Payroll experience
- Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification favorable
- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
