This role will be responsible to plan, deploy and maintain multiple services in Sky’s MPLS/IP Core and Edge Network. These services include Broadband and Telephony, Content Delivery and Transport, Broadcast, Corporate Telephony as well as the internal Company Network.

What you’ll do:

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware, and software, methodologies, to understand and review Business requirements against high-level and low-level designs.

• Candidate will be part of a dynamic team though must have the ability to proactively work on their own to manage and balance a continuous workload. Have experience to plan and prioritise all tasks related to projects to meet tight deadlines in a controlled fashion.

• Prepare/peer review/lab test and implement relevant Method of Procedure (MOP) activities, ready for deployment in a live Network environment.

• Submit Changes (Spark/ServiceNow) for implementation related tasks, taking full ownership, associated to the specific Planned Work/Project which involves everything from the conception to completion in an organised manner to include appropriate ongoing updates.

• Explain specialized information in a simplified manner to allow other less technically minded the ability to understand the objectives during Change review boards.

• The ability to mentor others to reach a high technical standard and have the confidence to be able work on their own projects.

What you’ll bring:

• A fundamental knowledge of how networks are utilized and operate in a fast-moving environment will be advantageous. Allowing an individual to identify risk and any potential impact related to change to therefore avoid unnecessary downtime.

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS or IOS-XR platforms and working knowledge of Alcatel / Nokia 7750 platforms.

• IP networking and Routing/Switching such as MPLS, LDP, ISIS, BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, ACL’s and QoS

• Ability to apply Open-config and Vendor specific NETCONF-YANG models, JSON and XML payload for network automation to configure and manage routers

• Good verbal and listening communication skills is prerequisite to be able to document and hand over to others with the necessary detail to ensure continuity of work

• Strong knowledge of Python and GIT
