Main purpose of the role would be leading and owning network test automation to support testing for various platforms and services supported by Sky’s IP network.

What you’ll do:

• Own the development and improvements in test automation framework
• Lead test automation from case creation to delivery and maintenance of test automation scripts
• Ensure that committed test cases to business are automated and any challenges/issues are raised with management as quickly as possible with options to mitigate them
• Review and approve GIT merge requests. Work with other developers to make sure that code is written to a standard and is highly optimized and reusable
• Use of Best Practices, reusable scripts/functions/modules in Automation development
• Collaborate with network engineers to understand the manual test cases and showcase them what has been achieved & solicit feedback for further improvements
• Participate in various Agile rituals, such as sprint planning meeting, Retro, demos.
• Build complete CI/CD pipelines from building the lab, carrying out automated tests, produce user friendly reports, uploading results to test management tool and bringing the lab back to previous code base.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong hands-on experience of Python, GIT and Robot framework
• Good understanding of SQL/NoSQL database and REST calls
• Demonstrable experience of network test automation using standard python-based frameworks such as Django or Flask
• Previous experience of automating test cases using REST calls via IXIA or Spirent would be advantageous
• Good understanding of IP routing and switching such as BGP, MPLS, QoS along with prior test automation experience for Cisco IOS-XR, Nokia devices
• Ability to understand and apply Open-config and Vendor specific NETCONF-YANG models, JSON and XML payload for test automation
