In the role, you will drive new technology and keep abreast of current trends in monitoring, mentor other team members and help drive innovation in an agile team.

What you’ll do:

• Build and support our application and synthetic monitoring tools, including Opsview, AppDynamics and Elastic, ensuring latest versions are deployed, patching is kept up to date and licensing is adequate
• Build bespoke script using shell and/or Python and SQL to create monitoring checks
• Administer our GCP toolset, including our in-house developed alerting solution utilising Pub/Sub, BigData etc and other GCP tools
• Build scripts to interact with a variety of API’s
• Learn and use other development languages & tools as required

Team Overview:

As a Senior Monitoring Solutions Engineer, you’ll work within the Monitoring Solutions Team, a talented group of engineers, developers and analysts located in Osterley, Livingston and Leeds, helping to design and build world-class monitoring tools, dashboards and bespoke solutions to ensure Sky’s online and streaming services continuously deliver the quality expected by our customers.

Livingston:

Our lively campus is a free shuttle bus away from Livingston South train station and the town centre. Plus there’s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

You’ll be well fed at our subsidised canteen, and you can keep in shape at our onsite gym. Or play a game of pool or table tennis.

Osterley:

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There’s also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

On campus, you’ll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed and even get pampered at our beauty salon.
