Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Camera Algorithms 

 

THE ROLE: 

Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is an entrepreneurial research and development team to build AMD's future IPs, advanced platforms & products. You will have the opportunity to work with a winning team, collaborate with various R&D teams & customers, explore innovative technologies, leading, architecting, and defining the development of best-in-class hardware, software, and systems that solve real-world problems for end users. 

 

THE PERSON: 

  • ATG is looking for motivated and top minds to join our System Architecture Teams, to define, prototype, and drive our long-term growth in the Camera ISP (Image Signal Processor) technology domain. The person in this role will have a significant impact on current, as well as future products on the 2–5-year horizon. 
  • In this role, you will envision, design, prototype, and deploy Camera algorithms, from Auto-Exposure, Auto-White balance, Auto-Focus, through innovative algorithms incorporating machine learning and other innovative technologies. You will also work closely with architects and leads across Camera software, hardware, and firmware teams. 
  • You will be actively contributing to the development in areas of camera, computer vision, applied machine learning, optimal image quality, and advances in end-user experiences. Our advanced technology platforms span across different market ecosystems, and different operating systems including Windows, Linux, Chrome, and others.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Design, prototype, implement, and deploy Camera (ISP) algorithms on AMD platforms 

  • Architect novel algorithms to improve end-user camera experience, leveraging AMD’s portfolio of advanced technologies 

  • Collaborate with FW/SW/HW teams from product definition to deployment, to drive improvements into AMD’s imaging solutions 

  • Hand-on debugging and analysis to identify and resolve issues in ISP algorithm behavior, image quality, to ensure top-tier end-user experiences 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proven ISP algorithm design in mobile or laptop markets 

  • Experience designing, evaluating, prototyping, implementing, and deploying Camera (ISP) algorithms such as 3A algorithms (auto exposure, auto white balance, auto focus), PDAF, HDR 

  • Experience in computational photography 

  • Experience in investigating and driving improvements across power, performance, and other Key Performance Indicators in algorithm performance and quality 

  • Experience in Computer Vision or Machine Learning system design and deployment 

  • In-depth knowledge tuning ISP solutions for customer objective and subjective criteria 

  • Hands-on experience in analyzing and debugging algorithm issues  

  • Experience developing camera software for one or more of Windows, Linux, other operating systems, or FW solutions 

  • Familiarity with DXO mark and other quality scores, certifications 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Master of Computer Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar degree
