The opportunity
The role leads a team who provide expert support and monitoring of information, records, and document management platforms across Sydney Metro. The role is responsible for delivering support and solutions which meet Sydney Metro strategic objectives while collaborating across TfNSW cluster to meet statutory and government policy requirements. It defines, drives and maintains information management standards, policies and procedures across the organisation, acting as the leader responsible for managing information, and records, for establishing overarching systems, processes, audit and attestation activities, designed to ensure a strong business posture against information risks.
Your key accountabilities are:
- Model good leadership to inspire direction and delivery, develop people, and drive change
- Live the NSW Public Sector and organisational values to achieve outstanding outcomes for the organisation and customers
- Manage the delivery of improvements to existing information systems, as an ongoing product roadmap, to meet the needs of the Sydney Metro
- Identify, develop and implement business improvement opportunities including investigation, analysis and evaluation of functional and non-functional requirements of information systems and identify issues and risks relating to existing and proposed information systems, and develop and recommend mitigation strategies with appropriate controls
- Establish and maintain a records management program in conformity with standards and codes of best practice approved by NSW State Archives and Records, and TfNSW Standards including management of archival policies, administer records management policies designed to facilitate effective and efficient handling of business records and other information in line with the State Records Act 1998
- Provide regular review and management reports on the status of information systems, and briefing notes and business cases to support the renewal of existing contracts
- Develop and align an Information Management and Records (IMR) technology vision with business & technology strategy to guide the development, implementation and governance of IMR systems and the management of information in business systems
- Provide leadership and management of multiple information management practitioners, embed records management capability in agreed platforms, other business systems and trial innovative solutions and provide 'Design Thinking' to support and grow data / information architecture domains
- Champion new ideas and assess the market, trends and opportunities to develop and prioritise usability and functionality of systems to manage records and manage the transition of systems from traditional record management processes and disparate systems to an improved and modernised records management model which manages records in place
