The opportunity

 

We have a Fixed Term Full Time Opportunity (up to June 2024) for a Senior Manager Business Services to join the Customer Strategy & Technology division in the Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS) branch. This role will lead and deliver high level business support to ensure the efficient functioning of senior executive management and their respective Division.

 

SCATS is critical to Transport for NSW and its global customer base, improving traffic flows, managing congesting and keeping over 1 billion people safe every day worldwide. Beyond delivering network optimisation and safety outcomes, SCATS is critical to Transport for NSW’s technology agenda, and is key to anchoring NSW as a global leader in innovation and technology.

What you will be involved in

 

The successful candidate will manage all cross-functional issues affecting the group such as safety, financial, business processes, reporting, strategic planning and organisational improvement. Additionally, this role will:

 

• Guide and coordinate the business planning process for the Division, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives;
• Ensure strategies and plans developed by the Division are translated into meaningful performance targets, providing assurance and regular reporting for senior management;
• Provide advice, technical expertise and operational support on a wide variety of business matters including all, finance and procurement submissions;
• Raise HR-related concerns with the HR specialist deployed to the business unit and follow HR instruction on the resolution of HR-related and personnel-related issues;
• Prepare complex correspondence, briefing notes and reports in relation to specific projects, initiatives and issues ensuring that submissions are accurate, timely and have appropriate signoffs;
• Ensure sound financial management for the Division, including planning, budgeting, reporting and control;
• Oversee the procurement process within the Division, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and providing strategic advice and assurance on all procurement submissions.
