The Opportunity
The Senior Manager Benefits, Evaluation & Assurance is responsible for leading the Investment Assurance and Benefits realisation function in order to ensure that value is maximised from Sydney Trains’ investments.
This role sits on the leadership team of the Investment Management function for SP&I, Sydney Trains and is accountable assurance of Business Cases in accordance with Sydney Trains and TfNSW guidelines.
The role is also responsible for contributing benefits development expertise and economic analysis to the Business Case development process.
It represents a strong opportunity to continue driving improved benefits maturity and customer focus enabling Sydney Trains to deliver against its five key priorities.
What you will be involved in:
- Delivering timely and accurate assurance of Business Cases
- Providing benefits development and economic analysis expertise to the formation of business cases
- Provide leadership, direction and line management support to a team of experienced specialists in assurance, benefits management, economic and financial analysis
- Act as the source of truth for benefits evaluation and reporting while working in partnership with ST and TfNSW’s Finance function
- Deliver agreed improvements to service offerings and processes within SP&I
- Provide input and feedback to the Strategy Portfolio &Investment (SP&I) Leadership on the progress and quality of programs and projects in development

- Team player, working as one team across SP&I with strong people and communication skills, problem solver, practical and pragmatic
- Resilient and ability to work in a complex matrix environment with multiple changes
- Enthusiastic and passionate about what you do, seeking continuous improvement of project and benefits management maturity
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance/economics or demonstrated substantial industry experience in the development or assurance of significant project business cases in a complex environment.
