My client is a privately held NZ business that has been operating since 1947. With a proud history, this business has scale with significant operations across Australia and NZ. The business employs in excess of 600 staff and is well regarded in their space. The business is customer focused with solutions that really benefit it's end customers. The finance team is circa 20 people and an opportunity has arisen to join as the Management Accountant for the NZ operation.

The Role

As the contract Management Accountant you will report directly to a down to earth commercial finance manager who wants to provide the breadth in your role to enable you to grow. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts for the NZ operation, highlighting variances to budget
• Preparation of branch reporting and supporting sales & margin reporting
• Preparation of critical analysis of profitability by customer, product group etc
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure its accuracy
• Prepare weekly management sales reporting and deliver ad hoc reporting to the business as and when required
• Ensure internal controls are in place
• Participate in feasibility studies, modelling and implementation of future business development opportunities
• Prepare detailed budget models of annual budget setting
• Partner with branch managers during the budgeting and monthly performance reviews
• Assist with providing insights to the annual audit process
• Other ad hoc duties as required.

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone who is ideally a qualified Accountant, however if you possess the relevant skills & attitude and have a degree in Accounting, you will be considered. What is truly important are the following attributes:

• Great ability to partner the business
• Thorough & great attention to detail to produce accurate sets of accounts
• An ability to provide indepth analysis so you will have an inquiring mind
• An understanding of a manufacturing process would be advantageous
• Strong excel and IT skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders

Based out between Mangere & Otahuhu, this business has a great office environment with plenty of parking on site. Some flexibility is available.
