We are looking for a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join our Interislander team!The Senior Maintenance Engineer will provide leadership to the Maintenance Team by performing both supervisory and physical “hands on” work. You will provide leadership predominantly shore based working on Interislander assets. You will need to monitor and control the application of labour, plant and materials to every job and you will need plan for and execute the repairs, checks and maintenance of the assets. You will have a key role to play in the management of the Maintenance Team and assist in their learning, development and professional growth.As Senior Maintenance Engineer you will have a key role to play in the formulation and application of high quality work procedures for the shore workshop and the wider Interislander operation.To be successful in this role you will need:

• Relevant Mechanical or Marine Engineering experience
• To be comfortable working in a marine environment
• To be a fast learner of marine systems and operations
• A good knowledge of safe engineering work practices and procedures
• A sound knowledge of Safety, Quality & Risk management systems
• Good IT skills with the ability to learn job specific software systems
• A Class 1 driving licence (a Class 2 driving licence and F endorsement is desirable, but training can be provided)
• Experience in people management and a drive to expand this skillset
