Job Description
The Health Care IT Consultant will responsible for the overall management and coordination of Palliative and Home care initiatives. The Health Care IT Consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to a Palliative InterRAI assessment, a comprehensive, standardized system for evaluating the needs, strengths, and preferences of those in palliative care or hospice settings. In addition, we are seeking consulting services to assist with project management of numerous process and technology enhancements for the recently implemented Home Care digital tool, Home Care Solution (HCS).
Scope:
- Developing a business case for the introduction of the Palliative interRAI Assessment in close collaboration with the Provincial Integrated Palliative Care Program.
- Analyzing the operational workforce requirements to be able to complete the interRAI assessments. This includes developing a model to predict the volume of assessments and how many staff are required to complete them.
- Developing a multi-year cost model to identify the costs required to implement the assessment and estimated annual operating costs. Costs should include - but not be limited to - workforce costs, training costs, technology costs, and professional service fees.
- Identifying impacts resulting from discontinuing use of the existing palliative assessments and transferring to interRAI.
- Identifying training requirements for staff.
- Collaborating with the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) and interRAI to determine the timing for when CIHI will begin to accept the palliative assessments.
- Completing a scan of other jurisdictions that are either using or planning to implement similar types of palliative assessments.
- Developing a high-level implementation plan illustrating the timeline requirements and the key activities required to implement the InterRAI palliative assessments.
- Identifying risks associated with the implementation of the assessments.
- Providing project management and business analysis support for the introduction of existing platform enhancements.
Experience and Education
- Resources must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to consulting in a healthcare environment.
- Experience working with and/or knowledge of a provincial Home Care Program, AlayaCare and interRAI assessments would be considered an asset.
- Minimum 8 years in Health Care IT, with strong consideration to a Senior BA or Project Manager
- Solid knowledge of project management methodologies.
- PMP, CPAP, and other IT certifications
- Degree or Diploma in IT related field
