Short Description

Role purpose: To ensure the successful roll out of Nucleus UK Programme in accordance to the programme roadmap.

 

This role will manage the roll out of the BI / analytic solution based on Google Cloud Platform into the agreed markets in scope according to the programme roadmap. This means coordinating all the project phases involved in the roll out, i.e. analyse, design, delivery, test, data migration, infrastructure related activities/changes, integration with local systems as required, liaising with local IT teams in the Local Markets and managing System Integrator engagement and activities. Track and coordinate the overall project scope, till deployment and transition to Support and Operations, ensuring full alignment and coordination between Technical teams on SI, Local and Global IT sides for both management and staff members.

 

The IT Delivery Lead will assure that all the delivery activities are executed by the different teams as and when expected to guarantee a successful delivery (on time, on budget, with the right level of quality, i.e. without issues after go-live).

 

Key activities will include:

•    Set-up of the IT project organisation, support the cost monitoring, plan and on-board the required IT resources, set-up and mobilize the project.
•    Ensure Design Closure and sign off: follow up with Business, CoE and other teams involved on the Design Phase and make sure that the design is clear, all the relevant documents are approved and that the approval flow is fully managed
•    Managing end to end implementation (from analyse to deployment) of the central solution (CBM), including work closely with local markets to coordinate local activities in sync with the overall project plan
•    Work with the Infrastructure Team to assure that all the infrastructure related activities are properly addressed, executed and monitored, including environment set up and connectivity
•    Test: work with the appointed Test manager to make sure that the test scope and approach is defined and approved, identify the business name responsible for the test activities, verify that the full test preparation and plan has been completed, verify the execution progresses as per plan and follow up with the SI and test team on defect resolution status
•    Data migration: work with the appointed Data manager to make sure that the data migration scope and approach is defined and approved, identify the business name responsible for the different activities, verify that the full data migration preparation and plan has been completed, verify the execution progresses as per plan and follow up with the SI and business on reconciliation and defect resolution status 
•    Owning deployment activities defining approach and plan with all the relevant parties involved and tracking/monitoring the progress
•    Support  transition to business as usual : manage/support the knowledge transfer and the transformation of local IT teams to handle the new end to end/global solution
•    Manage and control that the Systems Integrator, the Local Markets and Global IT resources deliver as expected according to their commitments (contractual scope/remits)
•    Ensure the SI provides and follows commitment curves for all deliverables in scope
•    Owning the IT budget for the scope in charge (i.e. project/release/countries)
•    Support Operations team in defining the Support & Operations Set up for the solution utilising Vodafone offshore capabilities

Description

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 
•    Deliver the solution in the markets in scope within defined plan and budget
•    Manage and control the technical delivery with Systems Integrator, Local Markets and Global IT resources
•    Fully understand the delivery life cycle and identify best practices for delivery and drive system integrators through those processes
•    Represent Vodafone IT Delivery team towards Group Functions, Local Markets and System Integrators
    

 

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
•    Expertise and experience with system integration covering all key aspects of IT (Application, Data, Test, Infrastructure, Deployment, Operations) across DWs and legacy systems
•    Track record of successful implementations for large scale, complex system solutions for multi-functional, multi-national organizations
•    Ability to manage an international, multi-cultural and distributed team with complex reporting lines
•    Ability to communicate at all levels (from development team up to CIO / CFO) and to organise/drive meetings  ensuring a clear reporting
•    Ability to work in any country and to travel  up to 4 days a week    

 

Must have technical / professional qualifications: 
•    Specific technical qualifications are not required but expertise and experience in system integration covering all key aspects of IT (Application, Data, Test, Infrastructure, Deployment, Operations) within BI and data warehouse solutions will be a plus
•    10+ years’ experience in delivering big and challenges projects / programmes in international environment

Key performance indicators:
•    Project delivered on time and on budget (from IT point of view)
•    Quality of the solution: minimum acceptable defects
•    Coordination, management and delivery of all delivery tasks (local and global IT teams) in order to ensure smooth transition to BAU, in coordination with support team
•    Systems Integrators activities performed and completed according to contractual agreements    Direct reports: 
•    Global IT resources from central project delivery team
