About the team

The Sydney Metro Information & Technology (IT) branch sits within our Corporate Services division. Sydney Metro IT supports the needs of Sydney Metro’s portfolio of transport infrastructure projects and the teams behind them. We deliver lifecycle management across digital, products/platforms, security and risk, customer experience, service management, application development and integration, architecture, and technology portfolio management.  

 

We also play an important part in delivering the IT strategies that support Sydney Metro’s goals as an organisation by identifying technology opportunities, now and into the future.

 

Our IT Delivery team is responsible for supporting the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Metro technology products, as well as program management of complex business technology solutions.

 

The opportunity

Right now, we have a number of opportunities for a Senior IT Business Analyst to join our IT Delivery team on a 2 year fixed term contract.  In this role you will provide analysis, advice and support for the organisational business intentions, services, processes and information that identifies changes that lead to business improvements. You will conduct analysis and evaluation of functional and non-functional requirements and documentation of technical specifications facilitating strategic advice to support IT project decision making, planning, resourcing and delivery across a portfolio of complex initiatives.

 

Your Key accountabilities are:

Identify gaps in current people, process and technology and propose recommendations to address these including new skills / capabilities, processes or technology solutions such as revised definitions, metrics, dimensions or metadata.

Ensure comprehensive documentation is produced such as business and functional requirements, technical/interface designs, business process models, user stories/requirements and user case scenarios, as appropriate for the business need.

Work with key stakeholders to define business requirements and trends with a comprehensive analysis of alternate solutions (internal and external) to enable informed business decisions, and service level improvements, continuously drive agility and flexibility in responding to business and industry changes

About you

You are an experienced Business Analyst that has a background in Information Technology.  You will have demonstrated experience translating complex business requirements into data and technical specifications that meet the needs of stakeholders, are understandable and scalable for future enhancements.

 

You will be skilled in operating autonomously, can communicate effectively and build relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will demonstrate a great work ethic, feel confident on prioritising issues and will be able to deal with complex matters by liaising with your Project Team to work together on solutions.

 

Beyond that, if you are passionate about identifying opportunities and implementing ideas to work better and you measure success on delivering business value, then this is the role for you.

 

Salary and benefits

The salary for this position is a Grade 8A ($120,423) – 8E ($134,872) per annum, plus superannuation and leave loading.
