About the role

The Senior Investment Manager - Technology sits within the Office of Regional Economic Development (ORED), which leads business attraction and promotion activities across regional NSW. This role will lead the development of and management of multiple projects and initiatives, act as a key point of contact for investment attraction enquiries, lead collaboration initiatives between industry and government, and deliver a range of investor services across priority sectors to deliver intended investment and job creation outcomes to meet the objectives of the 20-Year Economic Vision for Regional NSW Refresh.

Key responsibilities for the Senior Investment Manager - Technology role includes, but is not limited to:

Drive and attract inward private sector investment into priority sectors and precincts

Drive investment lead generation across priority sectors and build a pipeline of potential investment

Develop and execute key investment attraction strategies and provide expert advice and guidance on new and existing policy related to investment attraction in the Technology sector.

Lead engagement in cross-government Technology related investment attraction initiatives

Lead a small team that works with the wider ORED team in a proactive and reactive project environment

Provide timely, relevant and actionable market intelligence and advice on industry trends and major developments

Prepare timely, accurate, relevant and high-quality briefings, submissions, reports, speeches and correspondence to clients and stakeholders to inform decision making

This role will report to Director, Investment Attraction.

About You

You will be a highly motivated professional with proven project and relationship management experience in the Technology sector with a proven ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships professionally and confidently. You also can demonstrate previous experience leading a team in complex and multiple projects and/ or business development initiatives with sensitivity to time pressures resource requirements, business impacts and relationships to diverse stakeholders. And, you will have a passion and in-depth understanding of the issues facing Regional NSW as well as Technology markets and industries.

Key knowledge and experience

Demonstrated experience in investment attraction and development and delivery of strategic initiatives.

Essential requirements

Relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with relevant private sector experience, or equivalent relevant knowledge and experience.

Proven business development experience in the Technology sector.

Demonstrated project lifecycle management and business development experience, with the capacity to build an investor client base and pipeline with limited resources, drive priorities and meet deadlines.

Knowledge and understanding, or the demonstrated ability to develop an understanding of the Government's trade, investment and industry development policies and programs, NSW's international business operations, export and investment approaches, and market dynamics.

Evidence of the COVID-19 vaccination must be provided upon commencement of employment. This is a condition of engagement should you be successfully appointed to a position within the Department of Regional NSW (which includes Local Land Services and the Soil Conservation Service).

A current NSW driver's licence.
