We are looking for an experienced Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Engineer Lead for Strategy and New Projects, The individual will report to the BDUK Senior Product Support Engineering Manager, and will lead, supervise, coordinate, integrate and execute ILS functions to ensure sustainment of Boeing Supported Products as well as Support Proposals


This is an exciting opportunity for a person of the right calibre offering a challenging dynamic position; assisting the Product Support Managers BDUK shape the future of ILS in the company and externally. The successful candidate will be responsible supervising ILS work in the R&D environment, new business proposals and initial support to new platforms as they come into service. You will work alongside the existing ILS Lead Engineer who covers the current In-service RW fleet. You will assist the Product Support Managers with high level resource planning and reach into the ILS/Product Support pillars to ensure adequate plans in place for lower level resourcing to match your needs


Responsibilities

  • You will lead UK ILS activities related to Research and Development and new business opportunities, liaising with Engineering, Publications, RCMA, LSA, Supply Chain and other Support Product Capabilities and Departments in Boeing USA, Boeing Australia and UK.
  • Using an understanding of the TLCS business model and the proposal process, you will consult with customer and company representatives for ILS input during the initial proposal concept phase, interfacing with labour and material estimating to ensure an accurate and reasonable cost package is developed, post contract award, monitor programme/task status and performance.
  • Utilising a thorough understanding of MoD Supportability and Support Products, you will lead and advise on Support Strategy within BDUK, helping to shape Defence and International Standards. To represent BDUK Supportability/ Product Support within Team Defence.  
  • You will be expected to act as an ILS Champion; mentoring ILS and other staff, plus, briefing both internally and externally, including programme management, on ILS and its benefits, identifying, communicating and influencing future business opportunities within the scope of the programme.
  • You will participate in BDUK Engineering and Supportability, and ILS meetings, and actively engage with other BDUK organisations and stakeholders to seek innovative solutions to improve programme metrics and reduce cost of ownership.
  • You will be expected to work under minimal supervision, and be back up for the ILS Manager.
     

What We’re Looking for

  • You will have significant leadership experience in ILS; specifically within the MoD environment.
  • Ideally you will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject (not essential)
  • To be successful in the role you will need to have a significant amount of Integrated Logistical Support related work experience and recognized training.
  • Leadership and supervisory knowledge and experience is essential.
  • You will have intimate knowledge of Def Stan 00-600 along with the MoD KiD and AOF
  • You will have experience with Military platforms, with knowledge of IT systems in the Defence arena an advantage.
